Saddam Hussein Released Into Iraqi Custody

US News just broke the story that Saddam Hussein has been released from US Custody and is now being prepared for execution in as litle as 24 hours. Although guilty of numerous crimes against humanity I need to question the timing of this choice. With the New Years Holiday and mass aggregations of people to celebrate this clearly is an exceptionally poor time to do so. While I am a proponent of capitol punishment, the holiday season is not the time. While a significant portion of the world is celebrating holidays of peace and goodwill this seems to be an exceptionally poor timing.
